#circulareconomy – New Pedagogy and Corporate Cooperation to Promote Module Studies in Circular Economy

What?
In the #circulareconomy project (#kiertotalous), learning materials for teaching circular economy in Finnish and international educational institutes will be created.
Why?
To be carried out, circular economy requires changes in every field of the society, both business and households. Education has a remarkable influence when tomorrow is wanted to be changed, because the problems of the future will be solved by the ones who go to school today. Therefore, the teaching of circular economy must be enabled to everyone.
How?
Circular economy has been taught in Turku University of Applied Sciences, Lahti University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University of Applied Sciences in different circular economy modules by research workshops and innovation camps. Well-tried methods and accumulated know-how are now wanted to spread for others.
In the project, guidebooks of each innovative teaching method of circular economy will be created. The guidebooks will be produced in Finnish as well as in English and they are meant to exploit at all educational levels, in Finland and internationally. At the first stage, the main target group consists of the students in the universities involved in the project.
When?
#circulareconomy project started in November 2017 and will be continued until the end of 2018.
Who?
The project is implemented by Turku University of Applied Sciences, Lahti University of Applied Sciences and Tampere University of Applied Sciences. Partner universities are Savonia, Oulu and Vaasa University of Applied Sciences.
The project is financed by Sitra. Sitra is an active author of the future that studies, researches and includes partners from different sectors to unprejudiced experiments and reforms. In view of the future work is Finland that succeeds as a pioneer of sustainable welfare.
